Starbucks LOVE Project

On December 7th, 2009 at 1:30pm GMT Starbucks invited musicians from all over the world to sing together at the same time to raise awareness for AIDS in Africa. In that one breathtaking moment, musicians from 156 countries played "All You Need is LOVE" together - 40 years after the song was first performed by the Beatles in 1969. Starbucks made a contribution to the Global Fund to help fight against AIDS in Africa.

The Starbucks LOVE Project, along with Starbuck's holiday promotion, helped generate enough money to buy more than seven million daily doses of medicine for people living with HIV in Africa. The event set a new Guinness World Records for "Most Nations in an Online Sing-along."
